About

My name is Erin Hammond and I live in eastern Nebraska with my husband and 5 children, one son and four daughters.

My Childhood Doll began in 2013 when I began making dolls for my daughters and nieces. They all loved them so much and now we have a village of boy and girl dolls at our home!

All doll features are inspired by real children I see online or in person. The colors and patterns of their skin, eyes, and clothing change with the season and also what materials I find that stir my passion for making the dolls. Sometimes they are inspired by the seasons, a person, a song, or a mood.

Some of my favorite dolls have been created for children who have lost a parent and their dolls are made from very special pieces worn by their parent. I have made dolls for best friends. I have made dolls for families to remember children who were gone too soon and dolls that image children with disabilities. These were all custom dolls and challenged me both artistically and emotionally. They seeped deep into my heart as I stitched together these special dolls that interwove me into the fabric of life and all that we encounter together moving through happy times and sad.

I want to create beautiful dolls that enhance the look of a home but more importantly, my hope is that each doll becomes a friend, a source of comfort, and a treasured heirloom that generations can enjoy. My vision is that one day a grandparent can look at their grandchild and say, "this is yours now, please take care of my childhood doll."

Peace be with you all!
